Music and Arts

We, Alvarado Elementary South artists, are here to have fun while nurturing our minds by learning about introduction to music, art and art history.

Research has shown that students who participate in the arts perform better in other fields of study. This whole brain development helps students with critical thinking and problem solving skills. Through out the year we will learn about music and how it is all around us.  We will learn to listen to the sounds and rhythms of music and even begin to play some basic songs on instruments such as the xylophone, drums, and other percussion instruments. During the year, we will also be studying the elements and principles of design as they apply to each art project.  I want the Fine Arts classroom to be a safe place where your child feels loved and valued as an artist. Enriching their life through art and building a strong self-esteem is my true vision. I love my AES students very much!

Your child will be coming to the Fine Arts classroom either on Monday/Wednesday/Friday or on Tuesday/Thursday alternating every grading period.
